Love Rain

I’m starting to feel like I should make funner titles, but I’m not good at that stuff.

Love Rain

Yes Another show containing Jang Geun Suk…. I may have a problem.

So this show follows two different love stories and one love story transcends decades. I’m going to have to break this up into two parts, 1970s and present day.

The first portion of the series follows Seo In Ha (Jang Geun Suk), an art major, who falls in love in 3 seconds with Kim Yoon Hee (Yoona). He is complete head over heels in love with her, however his best friend, Lee Dong Wook (Kim Shi Hoo), also falls in love with her. In Ha decides to keep quiet about it, but Yoon Hee finds out about and she also is in love with In Ha. Sadly, In Ha has joined the army and has to leave, while Yoon Hee goes to America to get her sickness taken care of.

Fast forward to present day. Seo Joon (Jang Geun Suk), son of In Ha (Jung Jin Young), is a photographer on a shoot in Hokkaido when he meets Jung Ha Na (Yoona), daughter of Kim Yoon Hee (Lee Mi Sook), and under some odd circumstances he gets a hold of her phone. He gives back her phone, but forces her to take him to see the diamond snow. Though their futures seem intertwined as they keep meeting up again when they’re back in Seoul.

In Ha and Yoon Hee meet again, and pick up their romance from where they left it years ago. While at the same time Joon and Ha Na are also trying to follow their own love story.

This drama has everything that one would want from a melodrama. The issues with your father/mother being in love with your significant’s mother/father. The chemistry between Geun Suk and Yoona on screen makes the drama perfect. You can actually believe that they are in love. Though Joon is very similar to the role of Tae Kyeong in You’re Beautiful, You do see  some of the same personality traits.

Overall this is a good Drama that I would suggest to people, however there are a couple of slow parts that will sadly stop it from getting full points.

  1. Aww, that’s too bad. I love good sageuks, and from the previews I’m pretty optimistic. Also, very glad to see Jang Geun Suk back in a drama 🙂

  2. Another Jang Geun Suk fan here 🙂 I absolutely loved Love Rain. I enjoyed both time periods and loved the romance aspect. It’s probably my favorite drama of his. I haven’t started Daebak yet, but I can’t wait to watch it!
