Your Lie in April
Also known as Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso or Kimi Uso in japanese is an anime series adapted from a manga by the same name. There are 22 episodes in the series and 11 volumes of the manga.
This is very much is very much a tearjerker anime. If you don’t like to crying, hearing about death or talk of cancer, than this anime is not for you. There are 4 main characters, but the anime really focuses on Kousei Arima, a piano prodigy who lost his mother and his ability to play music, and Kaori, Arima’s apparently carefree classmate who is a brilliant violinist. Throughout the anime Kaori and Tsubaki Sawabe, Arimas childhood friend, keep trying to get Arima to get back into playing the piano.
Arima gets introduced to Kaori as friend b, since Sawabe was introducing her to Ryouta Watari, Arima’s and Sawabe’s childhood friend and captain of the soccer team. Kaori pushes Arima constantly towards the piano, and does finally succeed to get him to play again even if it’s just a little.
The story is very touching, and there is a definite requirement for tissues in the last couple of episodes. The colours are used emphasis what is happening to the characters, as well as who they feel. So if you’re up for a good chick-flick this is something you should pick up.
