Summary:

What happens when you mix Janet Evanovich’s Wicked Series and Faes? This book, that’s what. We follow Mercy Thompson, an auto mechanic, who gets dragged back into werewolf business after she has long since separated herself from the pack she grew up with. As a walker, she has no right to a pack, but due to a tenuous friendship with the local pack leader she gets dragged back into their business. After his house was attacked, and he was left for dead. Mercy dives right in and helps her friend, even if it means putting herself in danger.

Review:

This is the first book in the Mercy Thompson series and a book series that I admit is my new addiction. This series follows Mercy Thompson through her adventures while living among the faes. Having grown up in a pack of werewolves, she knows a great deal about them. So when Adam, the local pack leader and tenuous friend, gets targeted by someone Mercy gets drawn back into the madness.

There isn’t much romance in this book but it will expand in the series. If you like Kim Harrison’s Racheal Morgan series or Janet Evanovich’s Stephan Plum series, this is a book right up you alley. The characters are well fleshed out, and you can really feel for the characters, even the bad guys.

I listened to the audiobook, and the reason I found it is because of the Narrator. Lorelei King is one of my favourites, and her performance knocked it out of the park this time. She has different and distinct voices for each character, and a lovely voice when speaking normally. If you are looking for a new narrator, I would suggest looking into  Lorelei King.

5/5
