The Highschool life of a Fundanshi
Another anime base on a manga I love! This is a lovable slice of life follows Sakaguchi who is a ‘Fundanshi’ who loves BL stories. We get to see his struggles as a straight guy you loves BL. Even his ‘normal’ friend Nakamura thinks he’s a little odd for his interest. He strives to obtain more fundashi friends, even though all his online friends think he’s a girl.
This Art Club has a Problem!
This season is dripping in gold for me. This anime, also based on a manga I love, follows a high school art club. All of the members have different quirks from Subaru Uchimaki, who’s dream is to draw the perfect 2D wife, to the forever sleeping president. This art club is filled with a bunch of crazies and one girl striving for a normal high school club experience.
Another slice-of-life anime and maybe sports related. This time, it follows 2 girls Hikari Kohinata, a cheerful extrovert that sweeps people up into her way of life, and Futaba Oki, an introverted girl who just moved from Tokyo. We watch as they meet, become friends and Futaba get swept away by the tides of Hikari’s life. Not sure if I’m going to like it, but we shall see!
Mahou Shoujo? Naria Girls
The good animes couldn’t keep coming, there has to one not to like. This is your classic Magical girl anime. So if you like the tropes of that genre this is for you. My main irk with this anime is the animations. This isn’t drawn in the standard anime style. Instead, it’s all 3d rendered leading to some very awkward and stiff movements. I’m still a purist. I love the hand drawn style, I don’t mind the 3D added int but I still find the style jerky. Not something I’ll be watching.
