This is a really sad movie towards the end. It’s one of those movies where you start questioning why you are watching it because you’re balling.
We follow Su Jin (Son Ye Jin), a daughter of a successful architect, who has recently broken up with her boyfriend. Due to her forgetful nature, she encounters Cheol Su (Jung Woo Sung) and accuses him of stealing her drink that she left behind. A year later, they meet up again through her father. Su Jin is embarrassed at first but quickly starts to fall in love with him. However, early on in their life together, they find out that Su Jin’s cute habit of forgetting things is actually early onset Alzheimers and they have to figure out how to handle her declining memory.
This is like a shorter and less intense version of the drama Hours of my life. The actors are fantastic and you are really invested in the story. I was on the brink of tears by the end of it but I think that’s because I have dealt with many people who have Alzheimers. This is a horrible disease and though it is rare, it can set in on younger people. More research is being done but hopefully, they will find a way to slow its progress. I love this movie and would recommend it for a good sad watch.
