Charley is back! And she’s determined to get her daughter back. Now that she has her memories back, Charley hatches a plan to get her daughter back with help of the God’s glass. However, she’s pulled into a case by Parker, a DA who is certain that the person who he’s about to put away for murder is innocent. She also catches wind of a cursed foster home due to a run away near her office. Meanwhile, she feels like her marriage is slowly slipping away from her while she watches. If that’s not all, she has no idea where her daughter is and how she can protect her, but she’ll figure it out.
This is the Charley Davidson I know and love. After the last book, this was a refreshing return to our favourite grim reaper. I understand the last book was a requirement for the progression of the story, however, I much prefer this Charley. I enjoyed the expansion on the God and her dimension. I also love the depth and fairy tale aspect that was added to Reyes’ and Charley’s relationship. This is a very strong book and it makes me hopeful for the next book.
