The Marzipan Murders (Sky High Pies Mysteries #11)

It was an ordinary day at the bakery when Katies hears of the untimely death of her friend. Without anything seemingly wrong in her friend’s life, it doesn’t make sense why anyone would want to kill the sweet woman. However, the more that Katie digs into the people around her, the more she can figure out who was really to be blamed for the murder.

it was an interesting mystery and not as straightforward as you would think it would be. It contained interesting twists and turns along the way that allowed the story to be more intricate than most. The Case of mistaken identity that was interesting, and though there wasn’t really anyone living a double life, the fact that she was accidentally killed was interesting.

This book was really well crafted when it came to character building. We got to learn a lot about Katie in this book, and though we already know a lot, it just builds her character even more. Crescent creek expanded in this book and we learnt a lot about the infrastructure. I know that’s not something that would be very interesting to most, but I do like a look into the world of other businesses and how the town’s inner workings… well work. Sadly, Zac wasn’t really in this book and neither was Trent, however, we did get to see Tyler as the main player in this book rather than just a secondary character. I will be really interested to see how he will be used in future books.

I really enjoyed this book and found it a good continuation of the series.
