Every small town has that one story of a kid who goes to Hollywood and makes it big, and Cynthia was that star for Crescent Creek. However, a surprise visit home comes to a tragic end when her body is found in her hotel room. With a blueberry found on the scene and her roots in Crescent Creek, the investigation come home. Katie starting taking a look at the case as a favour to town and their local hero. However, the more she looks into it the more the past comes sneaking back up.

The mystery of this book really helped to expand the town as well as Katie’s past. It’s an interesting story that has a tragic ending which led to the people in the high school at the time be a little different. I really wanted the mystery to be a little more difficult to figure out, however, there was one piece of information that Dina gives us that none of the characters seem to pay much mind to it. Though the history of the past was interesting, the murders weren’t very interesting which was a pity, however, not all of them can be.

I enjoyed this book more than the last few. The characters grew a little bit and I felt like they had been stale for a while. There is no person that doesn’t grow over time, so a character remaining the same is not only boring but also unrealistic.

I enjoyed this book overall, however, I am getting to the end of the series.
