The fourth of July is a time of celebration, parades and fireworks. Sonja is looking forward to relaxing and spending time with her family and friends. However, when a firework accident kills a man on the float, Frank and Sonja get wrapped up in a new mystery. Was this really an accident or was it murder.
This mystery was a very interesting one. I can’t think of a book that I’ve read that used fireworks as the weapon before. It was interesting and very turn m timely for the time setting of the story. Though Sonja doesn’t really get permission from Frank before looking into the mystery, he does give her some lea way this time around. He would still prefer that she does not get into dangerous situations, nor that that stops her.
The murder victim was expanded a little in this book, but past being a ruthless businessman not much is really known. We get to go a little into depth about his past which helped in understanding the motive of the murderer, however, I would have loved a little more. Sonja and Frank work really well as a team in this book, which was really nice. There were a couple of things in this book that makes me suspect that the series is building up to something. Also, where is Belinda?
Overall this was a fun book
