Margot’s niece is down visiting her for the summer as a way to get her back on track. However, when a boy who accosted her the day before was murdered, she’ss now the prime suspect. Margot is suddenly thrown back into the realm of police work as she working to clear her niece’s name even though the police are certain that she commited the crime.

Oh, I really liked this book. There were a couple of inconsistencies that made this book a little wonky. Most have to do with Adam and Julien. For once, the cops aren’t macho idiots in the first book. We get to see Adam as a person. My only question is how does he know so much about Margot, no matter how close you are to someone, you don’t mention their coffee habits. Also, why didn’t we get more information about Julian? There is a huge wealth of information and story right there. I really want to know more about him.

The mystery was really well thought out, and interesting. I liked how all the pieces fell into place, near the end without ruining it too early. The murder was intricate and interesting, but it never took away from the character’s development. The relationships between the characters were well described and brought you into the story.

All in all this book makes me excited for the rest of the series.

After moving to a new town, George setups her roots. She starts her craft store, but no more than a week later a fellow crafter is found dead in her home. Though the police are considering┬áthe death to be accidental. However, this explanation doesn’t feel right for Goerge, so she takes it upon herself to look into her friend’s death.

As a crafter myself I enjoyed this book immensely. Though it would be a bit of a leap to say I would want to own my own craft store, it does seem fun. We get to meet an unconventional character who has just moved back to the US from France. I would have liked her to have used a little French, but that could be the Montrealer in me.

I find it funny that the main character is interested in a man who is younger than her, at typically read books that the couple are roughly the same age. Though nothing has happened in this book, you can tell that the author’s setting it up that they are going to end up together.

I was a little sad that I could figure out who the murderer was so early into the book. I found that it was a little too obvious early on in the book. Also, one of the people she suspects doesn’t make any sense at all. I can understand why he gets mad at her about it.

I still enjoyed the book however, it was a nice fluffy read.

Felicity is finally setting up her storefront for her event planning business. While working on a city event, a man is murdered. Due to Felicities background in investigative journalism, she works hard to figure out who killed him. The only thing is that she is now working the case and trying to stay as far away from her ex who is also working the case for the police. Felicity is determined to find the murderer and not let this death tarnish her company’s names.

I really wanted to love this book. The concept was so good, the characters were fun and interesting. I enjoyed the back and forth between Felicity and Jefferson. It obvious that she’s oblivious to Jefferson being completely enamoured with her. They are really cute together, even though she’s a little flaky.

My biggest issue with this series is the lack of time markers or continuity between the scenes. We don’t know what happened or how long certain time periods were. I wanted to know more about the characters and the town, but I felt like the story was flitting around.

It has a really good base, I really hope the rest of the series gets better.
