Crescent Creek is gearing up for the annual food and wine fair. Kate was roped into being on a panel to judge snacks and desserts. At a pre-judging for the contest, one of the judges has a medical emergency. A few hours later she sadly passes away in the hospital. The police now have a murder on their hands and once they delve into the case they find out there is more than what meets the eye.

Well, this was a fun book. The mystery was more involved than previous books, or even other books in this genre that I’ve read. It wasn’t terribly hard to figure out with all of the hints that were given to the reader.

I enjoyed the dynamics between Dina and Kate while they were solving the crime. I was a little sad that Trent wasn’t in the book more than he was, however, I love the role that he played at the end of the book. Jack wasn’t in the book much either, but he definitely provided the voice of reason when it was needed.

The boom expanded on the already existing world. We got to find out about different festivals that are happening in and around the town. Crescent Creek is becoming more vivid as the books progress.

When Margot returns from picking up her friend at the airport, they are both surprised to find a man dead in the draft store. After a quick call to Adam, an investigation is started and a witness can place someone at the scene of the crime. Margot works with Adam to find out who really committed the crime.

This was a little harder to read than the first book. I still really enjoyed it, as well as the characters in the book. We found out a little more about Adam, and Julian. Adam is actually a really nice character and mirrors Margot really well in many ways.

Adam and Margot work really well together on the case, and though Margot is a little head strong, she is well aware that Adam has her best interest at heart. I will mention, that the chief character in this book, similar to most murder mystery books, was very blase about Adam sharing details with Margot.

Dex was also a nice addition to the series. He fits in perfectly with Margot and Rosie at the bakery. He also provides Adam with more of a back story so we get to see where he came from, and what made him the man he is today.

Overall this was a really fun little book.

A little vacation is just what Margot needs. However, when a murder happens on board, and it appears to be a simple overdose, Margot goes into investigation mode. She starts looking into it, even though no one else will.

Oh, I really liked this one. This series, though still early on, is really fun. Margot has never been a suspect of a murder investigation, unlike so many female leads in mystery books. Also, this series has also left the small town and Margot was able to look into a mystery away from home. Adam has become even cuter in the book series, and though he is hiding something, probably about Julian’s death, he still fits together with Margot.

The mystery was very well thought out, and made complete sense. It was obviously planned out and none of the clues seemed like it was spur of the moment. Though the connection between Gab and Adam doesn’t seem clear, and the reason that Adam managed to get to follow Margot is a little ify, it was still a really good book.

As you can tell, I really enjoyed this book.

While Bentley is out with a sore back, his old friends start passing away. It doesn’t make any sense until another old friend shows up. Margot finds it do until she finds out about the treasure hunt that they had a young adults. Adam and Margot work together to find out who is after the pair of old men.

Ok so I really love this book series. It’s hard to find a book series that grips me with the characters and not as a passing fancy. This series is on the small side of cozy mysteries but it is fantastic.

Margot and Adam’s relationship is very nice. They are open and honest, and though its not easy they are willing to work together to make their relationship work in the long run. It is nice seeing adults being just that, adults. Also, all of the characters are very well developed, making them very relatable.

This mystery was a little more complex in comparison to the previous books. I enjoyed that it also gave Bently more of a back story, as I really like the character. Though I had an idea who was behind it, it was still interesting watching the characters unravel the mystery. I hope that the new characters stick around in the next book because there is so much to explore in with them.

I really enjoyed this book and think that this series is worth the time
