Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000040_00002]

Alice has put the happening of wonderland behind her and is starting her new life at a new school. She is quick to make friends, however, when a purple haired boy shows up this go bad. The Cheshire cat is determined to get Alice back to Wonderland to fix the problems that have cropped up since the last time she was there. While trying to keep things under wraps so her parents don’t find out, Alice gets dragged back into Wonderland.

I really wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this book, but it was surprisingly good. It did take a little bit to get into it, and I feel like it ended with a little awkwardly. It did end with a cliffhanger, and we all know how I feel about that.

What I liked about the book is that it gives you enough information on the previous visits to Wonderland that if you haven’t read the book Alice in Wonderland then it’s ok. I did enjoy the difference in this book to the original Wonderland, it gave it something to work towards. The Cat is aiming to return Wonderland to its old crazy world that it once was, however, Alice doesn’t want to be a part of it in any way. Alice also gets some interesting powers in this book that help her a great deal in Wonderland which is interesting.

I feel like the character development was interesting, however, the Cat’s personality was a little awkward and all over the place. Though I know in the original book, the Cheshire Cat was very sly and manipulative, this time he was a little more physical when he was trying to convince Alice to do something. I did enjoy Alice’s new friends, which is an entire family containing Twins and Triplets. I will say though, her friend Adrianne is a little nonchalant about Alice’s story of Wonderland. However, when you’re that age, I guess, you want to believe in believable things. Later in the book, it makes more sense that she believes Alice, as she can now see Wonderland in the mirrors.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and might even pick up the next book… Even though the current Goodreads review is 1 star.
