Valentine’s day has arrived and a big party is happening at Belinda’s manor and Sonja can’t wait. However, the day gets a little wobbly when Sonja finds the local garbage man dead in the diner’s dumpster. She moves her operation to the manor to finish the desserts for the party. But when Belinda if arrested for 2 murders, Sonja is determined to find out who really is behind the murders, good thing her father is back in town.
This murder was super speedy. I believe it happened all in one night, or at least that’s how it felt. I feel like, given the story arch, it’s only natural that Belinda would be arrested for the murder. Frank was a little MIA in this book, however, if I had just arrested my girlfriend’s friend I would also be MIA. This book leaned do heavily on the occult that it was used as the reason for the murders. I’m not sure how I feel about that, however, when someone is mentally unstable they will do weird things.
We got to see how Allison feels about Sonja spending more time with Belinda and Frank. I understand that feeling when your friend starts a new relationship and seems to be spending more time with their significant other than you. That’s normal on the honey phase of a relationship. I enjoyed the character development in this book and finally meeting Sonja’s father. I feel like we’re going to need a lot more time to really understand that man.
Overall it was a fun little book.
