Heather finds out about the murder of a nursing home employee while visiting her grandmother’s friend at Hillside Manor. Betty had been found killed just out of the back door, right before her shift starts. With very few suspects on the list, Heather helps Ryan figure out who wanted Betty dead.
Ok so Gillard has seemed to get the sleuthing right in this book. Though the killer was easy to figure out, Heather did the appropriate sleuthing that an amateur detective should. We do get to meet Heather’s grandmother’s friend, Leila, who is a sweet lady. Through Leila, we find out more about Heather’s past and her family. we also find out more about Eva which is nice.
This is a really easy read that out can easily read in a short spurt. The simple writing is lovely as well. I would recommend this series to a new or young reader.
