The Time That I Loved You, 7000 days

This is a cutsy melodrama that follows the trope of childhood friends falling in love, as well as one sided love. This drama follows a pair of childhood friends, Oh Ha Na (Ha Ji Won) and Choi Won (Lee Jin Wook) who have both recently turned 30 and are single. They make a deal that whoever gets married before the age of 31 wins their bet and the other must pay 5 million won to the other. They both start looking for new romances. So let the games begin!

Throughout the series Ha Na gets caught up with attractions to not only her new intern, Ki Sung Jae (L), but also her ex-fiancé who stood her up, Lee Seung Hee (Yoon Kyoon Sang). Meanwhile, Won is being pursued by a young flight attendant Lee So Eun (Choo Soo Hyun). They try to help the other person’s relationship succeed while ultimately becoming jealous. Throughout the drama we also get a lot of background through flashbacks and get to watch their relationship grow over the 17+ years that they’ve known each other. While Ha Na’s family tries to push them together, she keeps resisting. However Won doesn’t give much resistance against what her parents are plotting.

The drama is filled with tropes, scenes where you want to bash the two main character’s heads together as well as some really cute scenes. It obvious from the shows banner that they do ultimately end up together, but the route that they end up on is an interesting one.

I will say that there are 2 second leads who have also every cute couplings. One is Ha Na’s younger brother, Oh Dae Bok, and her coworker, Hong Eun Jung (Woo Hee). The other is Won’s sister Choi Mi Hyang (Jin Kyung) and Seung Hee’s teacher. Neither of them have as fully fleshed out story as the main characters but they are so sweet together that it really adds to the story.

This drama is something you should pick up if you like a fun quirky drama that is light hearted but also very heart warming.
